Consultancy Services

To help you get the most out of using Strategy Design Studio software, we provide three categories of Consultancy.

The Proficiency Assessment service will identify whether SDS is being used in the most efficient manner.

The Strategy Healthcheck service will identify whether there are any mistakes in the segmentation that has been applied.

There are many different Miscellaneous Questions that you might have about the use of the software.

Each of these services is described in more detail below.

Proficiency Assessment

In this exercise, you (as the Risk Manager in a company that uses Strategy Design Studio) can nominate an analyst who is very competent in the use of the software, and we will give him/her a set of tasks to complete within your SDS solution.

This should take up no more than one day of the analyst’s time. We’ll review the approach that’s used, and where possible, suggest improvements that will provide a faster and more efficient way of achieving the task.

These are just a few examples of the tasks that the analyst will be asked to perform:

• Creating basic segmentation components (a Boolean Expression and a Class Set);
• Creating & Testing a Boolean Expression that uses a Dynamic Array characteristic;
• Creating & Testing a piece of Derived Data Script;
• Finding (and correcting) erroneous Input Data when Interactively Testing.

None of these tasks is designed to be particularly difficult, but they're probably performed regularly during normal work, so doing them more quickly would be very beneficial.

If you want the feedback, you can be given a ‘Proficiency Ranking’ which will let you know how efficient your team is, compared to other companies that have been assessed. Note : This is a rating for your company; it should not be used to penalise the individual analyst.

If, while performing the tasks, the analyst thinks of any questions that he/she has about the use of SDS, these can be included as subjects to cover with a Miscellaneous Questions exercise (see below).

At the end of the exercise, you can optionally choose to receive narrated recordings of the new approach that was identified.

You’d then be able to make these recordings available to all other analysts who use the software, to make sure that everyone has learnt from the exercise. Because these recordings would show the actions for Your SDS solution, they obviously wouldn't be shared with any other company. A Non-Disclosure Agreement would be signed to give you reassurance of this.

Strategy Healthcheck

The purpose of this exercise is to try to identify whether there are any potential problems with your strategies. Not in terms of taking on a high level of Credit Risk, but instead, whether there are any ‘gaps’ that records could slip through.

For example, it’s very easy to create Class Set segmentation that doesn’t cover all possible values for a characteristic. In this situation, a record would (incorrectly) be put into the “Others” interval.

To run this exercise, we’d simply need a print of the entire system.

Obviously, a Non-Disclosure Agreement would be signed to confirm that no strategy details would be shared with any other organisation.

Miscellaneous Questions

With over 30 years of experience of using Strategy Design Studio, in building systems, maintaining strategies and using Assisted Strategy Design, we’ve got a LOT of knowledge about how best to use the software.

So if you’ve got any questions, we’re sure we’ll be able to help! Obviously, your first port-of-call for these should be your Experian contact, but if he/she can’t help, what’s the harm in asking? You might have questions about any of the following (for example) :

• How do we convert a tree structure to a Segmentation tree?
• Is there a quick way to create a Class Set with a large number of outcomes?
• How can we create a file of test cases for an Interactive Test or a Test Project?
• How can we create a Policy Rule that’s triggered when a specified Boolean Expression is satisfied?
• How could we use the software to apply a Machine Learning model?
• When we’re building a new system, how should we design it to meet specific business objectives?
• Is it possible to set up an Assisted Design Project to use data from a Database Table?

If you send us your question (or list of questions), we’ll let you know which we can help with. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll say so, and there’ll be no charge.

For the questions that we can help with, we’ll set up a call with one of your analysts and walk through the steps that need to be taken, using your specific solution.

If screenshots are taken of each step, we’ll be able to overlay some narration and send you a copy of a video that walks through the steps. You’ll then be able to make this available to all SDS users in your organisation.

As always, a Non-Disclosure Agreement will ensure that no information or material relating to your solution (or the strategies that are used) will be shared with anybody outside of your organisation.
